Compbio Wizard Lab @ MD Anderson

The Compbio Wizard Group, led by Dr. Ye Zheng, is a dynamic hybrid research team (Meet our team) combining computational and experimental approaches. Our computational dry lab is housed in the Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, while our wet lab resides within the Department of Systems Biology.

Our group specializes in addressing biologically and clinically significant challenges through innovative statistical models, advanced computational methods, and integrative multi-omics data analysis. Our research spans diverse topics, including epigenomics, 3D genomics, proteomics, and their applications in cancer studies, CAR-T cell immunotherapies, and other disease systems. The wet lab focuses on epigenomic profiling of FFPE samples, unraveling gene regulation mechanisms across human cancers, as highlighted in our latest study.

Join Our Team!

We are actively recruiting passionate researchers at the Ph.D. and Ph.D. candidate levels.

  • Graduate Research Assistants for Ph.D. students (Houston local, other US institutions)
  • Research Interns for Ph.D. students (on-site or remote)
  • Postdoctoral Fellows

Feel free to explore the potential projects for the open positions.

Who Should Apply:

  • Candidates with backgrounds in Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering, and who have genomic research experience
  • Biologists with strong computational skills are also encouraged to apply
  • We are especially looking for candidates who have experience with new models, algorithms, and software construction

If you’re excited to contribute to cutting-edge research in computational biology and cancer studies, we would love to hear from you!

Colleagues! We are also open to collaboration!
